The full bench procedure: capacitors out, read, write, refit, then calibrate over OBDII

When mileage calibration is needed, the instrument cluster should be removed from the vehicle and connected "on Bench" following the wiring diagrams provided in the RH850 Programmer software.

Required Tools and Equipment

On-Bench Preparation

Steps to Prepare the Instrument Cluster (IC) Module:

1. Disconnect the instrument cluster from the vehicle.

2. Unsolder the capacitors carefully.

3. Solder the CB501 cable wires as per the wiring diagram provided in the software.

4. Use the V850/RH850 Programmer software to read the module.

5. Let the software save the file

Once successfully read, the software will prompt you to modify the Flash and will automatically save a "*.bin" file on your PC.

6. Press the "Write MCU" button in the software to modify the IC module.

7. Restore the hardware

Carefully return the capacitors to their original positions, unsolder, and remove the CB501 cable wires.

Vehicle Reinstallation & OBDII Calibration

1. Connect before proceeding

Ensure that both the AVDI interface and the CB106 cable are properly connected to the OBDII connector before proceeding.

2. Reinstall the instrument cluster in the vehicle.

3. Switch the ignition on immediately

As soon as the instrument cluster is connected, press the START/IGN button immediately to turn on the ignition.

NB!: The available time slot to perform this step is short!

4. Load the modified BIN file

Load the modified BIN file that has been saved during the reading process in the V850/RH850 Programmer software.

5. Open Mileage Calibration

Click the "Mileage Calibration" button. This button will only activate if all previous steps have been performed correctly.

6. Verify, then write

Press "Read" to verify the Mileage. Input the desired new mileage value and press the "Calibrate" button to write the new value to the module.

7. Power-cycle the cluster

After successful calibration, disconnect the instrument cluster from the vehicle's harness for about 20 seconds before reconnecting.
