This procedure happens automatically after key registration for some vehicles; in other cases you will need to perform it manually after key registration for vehicles with a mechanical key. It is required in order to synchronize the information of the new key with the ECM.
- Abrites AVDI interface connected over OBDII
- Abrites Diagnostics for Subaru software
- The newly programmed key
Important notes
- A key that is registered but not ECM-synchronised will not start the engine. If a freshly programmed key turns the ignition but the car will not run, this is the step that was missed.
- Whether it runs automatically depends on the vehicle - check after every key registration rather than assuming.
