This procedure happens automatically after key registration for some vehicles; in other cases you will need to perform it manually after key registration. It is required in order to synchronize the information of the new key with the ECM.
Required equipment
| Licence | SB004 — Alarm OFF and Key Learning for Subaru Vehicles (MY 2021-2026) |
- Abrites AVDI interface connected over OBDII
- Abrites Diagnostics for Subaru software
- The newly programmed key
Important notes
- On the smart platform, ECM registration normally starts automatically once each key has been used to turn the ignition on after an All Keys Lost - Smart System Reset.
- A key that is registered but not ECM-synchronised will not start the engine. If the car recognises the key but will not run, this is the step to check.
