When selecting the “Clear faults” function all the diagnostic trouble codes will be deleted from the electronic modules available in the vehicle.

There may be fault codes that require additional user input (i.e component replacement and others) in order for the fault code to be cleared.

Please note that some fault codes may be indicative to special diagnostic procedures for the special functions of the Abrites Diagnostics for BMW/ Mini generation 2.

Important notes

• A code that returns has not been cleared — it has been re-set. Some faults need something else done first (a component replaced, for instance) before the code will clear at all.

• Some fault codes point at the special functions of the Abrites Diagnostics for BMW/Mini generation 2 rather than at a physical repair. Read the code before clearing it; it may be telling you which procedure to run.

• Clearing works across every module in the vehicle at once, so run a Scan first if you want a record of what was there.
