Everything below should be in place before the synchronisation is started, because the procedure runs for roughly 40 minutes and should not be interrupted once underway.
Required equipment
- Abrites AVDI interface
- Abrites OBDII cable (SAE J1962) – CB106
- Windows PC with the latest Abrites Diagnostics for Toyota/Lexus/Scion Online software installed
- A stable external power supply / battery charger connected to the vehicle
Connections
The procedure is executed via OBDII only:
- Connect the AVDI to the CB106 cable.
- Connect the CB106 to the vehicle's OBDII port.
- Connect the AVDI to the PC and confirm the software reports an online connection.
Power supply
An external power supply is strongly recommended. The synchronisation takes about 40 minutes, during which the ignition stays on and the vehicle's own battery would otherwise be drained. Loss of power partway through will leave the ID Code Box and ECU unmatched, and the procedure will have to be repeated.
Important notes
- Do not start the procedure with a marginal battery – charge it or connect a charger first.
- Make sure the PC will not sleep, hibernate or lose its internet connection during the 40 minutes.
- Once these requirements are met, continue to the Procedure.
