Mileage calibration procedures are executed via OBDII, and in some cases need an additional internal CAN connection made with a CB012 or CB031 cable.
Required equipment
- Abrites AVDI interface
- Abrites OBDII cable (SAE J1962) – CB106
- Abrites internal CAN cable – CB012 or CB031, when internal CAN is required
Which connection do I need?
| Vehicle | Connection |
|---|---|
| Old type of gateway | OBDII only |
| New type of gateway | OBDII plus internal CAN via CB012 or CB031 |
You do not need to work out the gateway type in advance. Start over OBDII — a message in the software will let you know if the internal CAN connection is needed.
Step‑by‑step
1. Connect over OBDII
Connect the AVDI to the CB106 cable and the CB106 to the vehicle OBDII port.
2. Connect the PC
Connect the AVDI to the PC and start the Toyota Online software.
3. Add internal CAN if prompted
If the software reports that an internal CAN connection is required, connect the CB012 or CB031 cable to the CAN lines as required for the vehicle, then repeat the operation.
Important notes
- Keep a stable power supply on the vehicle for the whole session.
- Once the connection is established, continue with the page matching the cluster processor — S6J3 or RH850.
