Vehicle coverage: Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles with a Smart System and an ID Code Box, using the Abrites Diagnostics for Toyota/Lexus/Scion Online software.
Supported operation:
ID-Code-Box adaptation (synchronization) of a new or virgin second-hand module to the Smart System via OBDII. This is the step that follows the ID Code Box Reset procedure.
Where this fits in the sequence
- ID Code Box Reset – reset the module.
- Smart System Synchronization (this page) – pair the ID Code Box with the Smart System.
- ECU Synchronization – pair the ID Code Box with the engine control unit.
The ECU is still not synchronized when this procedure finishes — step 3 is a separate procedure that takes about 40 minutes.
The procedure in two parts
- Required connections – what to connect before starting.
- Procedure – the steps in the software.
Important notes
- A working key and ignition ON are needed at the point where the special function is opened.
- Unlike ECU Synchronization, this procedure is quick.
- The ID Code Box must be new or a virgin second-hand module; one still paired to another vehicle has to be reset first.
